Our clinical strategy: help shape the future of mental health care
Our trust’s Doing well together strategy sets out our ambition to make mental health care easier to access, use and trust for all our communities.
We are now developing a new clinical strategy that builds on this. It will help people across Kent and Medway understand how we provide care, how our services will develop, and how we will work together to support people earlier, more safely and more effectively.
We want to hear from you
We are sharing a series of short surveys so we can gather real experiences, ideas and feedback from you.
We want our clinical plan to reflect what really matters to:
- people who use our services
- families and carers
- residents across Kent and Medway
- the diverse communities we serve
Your experiences can help us understand what works, what could be better and where people may face barriers to accessing the right support.
5 short surveys
Each survey focuses on a different theme linked to areas where we know there are challenges, and where we want to understand more about what matters most to service users, families, carers and citizens in Kent and Medway.
Underserved communities
We want to better understand how we can make care more culturally informed, more welcoming, and easier to access for everyone, especially communities who have told us they face barriers.
This short survey asks 4 questions about what gets in the way, and what would help services feel more respectful, accessible and culturally aware.
Share your views on making mental health care more accessible and inclusive.
Preventing crisis
We want to better understand how we can work with people and communities to spot early signs of difficulty, act sooner, and provide support that helps people stay safe, stable and well in their own homes.
This short survey asks 4 questions about what early help should look like, what makes you feel safe, and what would help you stay well and avoid crisis.

Proactive joined-up care
We want to better understand what “joined‑up care” means to you.
This short survey asks questions about how care could feel more coordinated, easier to navigate and more supportive.

Physical and mental health
We want to better understand how we can support people better by looking at mental and physical health together, in a more joined‑up and holistic way.
This short survey asks 4 questions about what helps you stay in control of your mental and physical health, and what gets in the way.
Share your views on physical and mental health support
Young people
We know that more young people are experiencing mental health difficulties earlier, which can make school, college, work and social life harder to manage. We want hear directly from young people to help shape services that feel more consistent, more supportive and easier to navigate.
This short survey asks 4 questions about your mental health, your experience of getting support, and what would help make the move into adult services smoother and more person‑centred.
Young people: share your views on mental health support
What will happen to your feedback?
What you tell us will directly inform our clinical strategy and help us plan services that are: more inclusive, more connected, and more responsive to our communities.
Our ambition is to reduce inequalities and improve outcomes for people across Kent and Medway.
Take a few minutes to complete our short surveys and share what matters to you.
How does our clinical strategy align to national priorities?
Our clinical strategy aligns with the NHS 10‑Year Health Plan, the Medium‑Term Planning Framework and NHS England’s National Mental Health Strategy (2026).
These share a focus on preventing ill health, providing support earlier, reducing waiting times and making care more joined up and closer to home.
