Kent and Medway Mental Health NHS Trust has appointed Kevin Corrigan as a Non-Executive Director and Chair of its Audit and Risk Committee.
A qualified accountant, Kevin brings with him significant experience in finance, investment management and risk oversight. He has built a distinguished career advising pension funds, families and government institutions.
As a former Chief Investment Officer and senior asset management executive, he offers strong strategic, commercial and financial leadership, alongside deep expertise in managing risk and assurance.
Kevin currently serves as Vice President of the University of Reading, where he chairs both the Scrutiny and Finance Committee and the Investment and Development Committee. He has also previously been a member of the University’s Audit Committee.

Alongside his professional experience, Kevin brings a longstanding and deeply personal commitment to mental health. His interest has been shaped by personal experience, having lost his partner to suicide.
He is a trustee of Mind, the national mental health charity, where he chairs the Finance, Risk and Audit Committee. He also chairs Suicide & Co, a charity supporting people bereaved by suicide.
Sheila Stenson, Chief Executive of Kent and Medway Mental Health NHS Trust, said: “Kevin brings outstanding experience in financial leadership, governance and risk management, which will be invaluable as we continue to strengthen our governance, manage risk more effectively and provide greater assurance to our Board, our partners and the communities we serve.
“Just as importantly, he brings a deep personal commitment to improving mental health care and supporting those affected by suicide. That combination of professional expertise, lived experience and personal insight will add real strength to our Board as we continue to improve services for our patients and communities.”
Kevin Corrigan said: "I am excited to be joining Kent and Medway Mental Health NHS Trust, especially as we launch our new five-year strategy, which is designed to deliver on the things that matter most to the people and communities we care for.
“Since joining the trust, I have been impressed by the colleagues I have met, and their inspiring stories they have shared about the work the trust delivers – and what it can do in the future. I look forward to playing my part – and helping shape the services we all want to see for our communities across Kent and Medway."
