Have your say on our next five-year strategy

As we reach the end of our current three‑year strategy, we’re taking time to reflect on what we’ve learned, how we’ve changed and what matters most as we look ahead.

Looking ahead: Our next five years

Our next strategy will set out a five‑year commitment to the new identity and ambitious vision we developed together last year:

To help people who live with mental illness to live well.

This is not about starting again. Instead, we’re building on everything we’ve heard and learned from staff, patients, carers, families, partners and local communities.

Their experiences and insights are central to shaping what comes next.

We’ve heard what matters most to people

Alongside data, national trends and insights, we’ve also listened extensively to staff, patients, partners, and communities. This feedback has not only shaped how we work and who we are, but what we need to do to help people live well.

From what we’ve heard so far, five ambitions stand out as most important:

  • Not having to wait a long time to get care.
  • Feeling safe in our care.
  • Having a good experience with us.
  • Seeing us spend our time, money and resources well.
  • Being cared for closer to home and not staying in hospital longer than needed.

These ambitions are helping to shape our new strategy.

We’d now like your views on how these ambitions can be delivered and what will help us provide care we can all be proud of.
